CYCLESAn imagined everyday bicycle workshop01 / Your setup ↓
Commuting, carrying, getting on with the day
Start with the ride you do.
Work trips, shopping stops or a weekend spin: describe how you ride, explore an example kit and take a clear setup brief to a mechanic.
Fieldwork Cycles is a fictional workshop created for this Brightly Useful design study, not a client project or a business taking bookings.

THE WORKBENCH
Give the setup a job
Choose your riding purpose, enter your weekly trips and distance, then select the accessories you would like to discuss.
Frame colors and accessories are design previews, not real products or a confirmed fit. Use the rotation controls to look around the design. The preview does not confirm that parts fit.
02 / TAKE SOMETHING USEFUL
Your setup brief
A starting point for a conversation, with your choices and the example arithmetic kept visible.
10 trips x your entered distance: 60 km per week (rounded for display).
Commuting: confirm what you carry, where you leave the bike and the conditions you expect to ride in.
Check the requirements, copy or download your brief, then discuss the actual bicycle and parts with a mechanic.
Example setup. Change the choices to make it yours.

For a mechanic to check
- Compatibility between the bicycle, rack, bags, lights, mudguards and other selected parts.
- Mounting points, clearances and any applicable load limits.
- Secure fitting and the condition of the bicycle before using the setup.
Only selected example accessories count toward the kit total. The bicycle and carried belongings are excluded. Check the chosen products for their actual weights. Weekly distance is trips multiplied by distance per trip. It is an estimate from your entries, not a measured riding record.
